Aren’t interesting friends the best? You know, the people that show up and life is suddenly more exciting? These people have something different that draws people in—and it’s not by being the smartest or loudest.
Process, journal or discuss the themes of this article - here's a few questions to get the ball rolling...
Welcome to the Chaser–a few questions after the weekend service to start conversations. If this is your first time in a group, or your group has new members, take a few minutes and introduce yourself. Two truths and a lie is always a good place to start.
Great relationships are all about being interesting and interested. Let’s start with some models. Who is the most interesting person you’ve ever met? And why?
Interested / Interesting people are committed, curious, and humble. Which of those comes easy for you? Which is the toughest? Why? (Protip: putting humble at the bottom of your list doesn’t make you seem more humble.)
You had a practice run at this question during service. Here it is again. “What is the most interesting thing about you and what were the conditions?”
If Jesus asked you “what would you want me to do for you?” how would you answer and why?
People are interesting when they reflect parts of God’s character. Take a moment and think about how you see God in each one of the people in your group. Then, everyone share.
More from the Weekend
This week when you run into someone new or who you don’t know well, make it a point to be interested in them and start asking questions. Think to yourself “this person is made in the image of God, is interesting and important.” Then, dive in.
Before you close the group, be sure to pray together. We’ll see you in two weeks. Next week is Go Local!
